Rural hospitals in South Africa have a severe shortage of doctors. People are sick and suffering because of a chronic lack of healthcare. Africa Health Placements (AHP) is a not for profit organisation aiming to recruit doctors internationally, to fill these gaps. The company needed recruitment material to advertise a life-changing opportunity – both for the people in need of healthcare, and those providing it.

We partnered with Qubeka, a South African art studio specialising in traditional African beadwork. Hand-crafting the poster gave it an instantly recognisable African style. It shows an unfinished modern day medical scene, which just needed a doctor to be complete. The poster is made from 8,220 beads to represent the 8,220 people in South Africa that each doctor is currently responsible for.
