Our Role

 

We are currently looking for a Commercial Finance Analyst to join our Finance Team in Manchester. The commercial finance team are responsible for business partnering our Internal Creative Agencies by providing relevant, timely, insight and analysis, along with effective challenge to help them drive performance.

 

 

What you can expect to be doing

 

As a Commercial Finance Analyst, you will provide commercial finance support to our Creative Agencies through:

 

  • Leading regular detailed meetings with client service teams to help manage and understand their WIP positions.
  • Implementing any actions arising from WIP meetings, for example processing job closures, time and income transfers, to ensure accurate accounting at month end.
  • Producing weekly metric dashboards to support Agency leadership in decision making.
  • Analysing historic client data to identify best practice behaviours, decision making and team performance.
  • Creating standardised templates for revenue forecasting and client reconciliations.
  • There will also be the opportunity to support the wider finance team on:
  • Monthly MI reporting
  • Network/Client reporting
  • Implementation of new systems/processes
  • Other ad-hoc reporting

 

What we'd like to see from you:

 

 

  • Part-qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
  • Great relationship building and influencing skills to manage and inspire multiple stakeholders from a financial and non-financial background.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with experience modelling data.
  • A curious individual with strong commercial awareness.
  • A pro-active approach and a problem-solving mind set.

 

It is not essential but experience in the following areas would be advantageous:

 

  • Business partnering within finance and being able to demonstrate where you have helped to add commercial value and shape key business decisions
  • Accounting for billable time in a professional services organisation.
  • Experience using Finance and Business Intelligence systems.

Sitting within our People and Learning and Development (L&D) team, this varied role will be responsible for coordinating our administration duties and will also provide support on our training and development activities within the agency. In addition to understanding Havas Lynx Group ethos and delivering the highest standard of service to our people, you can expect to be involved in the following:  

What you can expect to be doing:

People Operations

  • Effectively manage absences by ensuring records are captured correctly, and return to work forms are completed on time, flagging anything of concern to the Senior People Partners
  • Compile and send accurate monthly reports to the People team
  • Provide day to day guidance on employee relations queries, escalating to the Senior People partners where appropriate
  • Help process any changes to the systems, ensuring all relevant information are captured in time for Payroll
  • Ensure processes are completed and recorded for family friendly leave and any other types of absences such as sabbaticals
  • Ensure the People system is kept up to date and any necessary updates are carried out in a timely manner
  • Conduct exit interviews and help spot any trends and patterns from the data
  • Schedule six week update and three month review meetings for new starters with the relevant people
  • Schedule formal appraisals for employees with the relevant people. Gain feedback from the individual’s colleagues across the business ahead of each appraisal and ensure this is relevant, balanced and constructive
  • Accurately manage team member’s access to company benefits
  • Work collaboratively and independently within the People team to continually identify any processes and procedures that require improvement and development

What we'd like to see from you:

  • Previous experience within a People Coordinator or L&D role
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with an ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent organisation skills and a capacity to prioritise work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships
  • Proficient IT skills to be able to navigate around Excel and HR systems (Cascade and Talentspace)
  • Self-motivated with an ability to problem solve and think independently
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of current Employment Law and L&D methodologies and best practices
  • Adopt a proactive and enthusiastic approach to work
  • Ability to handle confidential data with a high level of professionalism
  • Ability to interact with multiple levels of leadership and management
