Transforming an orgasm into medicine
Discussing male masturbation is as normal as ordering a coffee, but when it comes to talking about female pleasure, especially for those post-menopause it becomes taboo.
No one wants to talk about old, dry vaginas.
But this means that 50% of the population have a shelf life on their sexuality. Orgasms have a well-documented range of positive health benefits for the vagina post menopause. So why aren’t Doctors prescribing it?
Solution
MysteryVibe worked with scientists to create a toy which could harness the power of the orgasm in treating health symptoms. As one of only a few FDA approved sex toys on the market we found an opportunity to take a stand and invite women to use orgasm as medicine.
Unfortunately, the taboo extends into the media landscape, female sex and pleasure is a censored subject. Not a problem shared by men with ejaculation concerns. We needed to find a way to get people talking about the power of the orgasm for postmenopausal women.
By hook or by crook we managed to wrangle a 45ft board in central Manhattan.

Impact
This started a bigger movement on social media and PR, making doctors understand the importance of sexual health for post-menopausal women. We generated a 125% increase in website traffic to the product page and 3 million outdoor impressions. The prescriptions were turned into a reality and sales increased dramatically. Not a bad way to break a taboo.
